Highlighting the teams' initial progress in Halfway Point (halfway)
Pi Hackathon 2025 is now officially halfway through! On September 19th, participating teams submitted halfway updates to highlight their progress in the first few weeks of the hackathon and share their vision for the rest of the event.

To give the community a glimpse into the progress, Pi Network is releasing a video featuring some of the projects that were developed during the hackathon. With only three weeks left until the hackathon officially ends on October 15th, be sure to check back to see what other teams have created and what other projects the teams have showcased in the video!

It is important to note that inclusion in the showcase does not affect the final ranking or predict which projects will win the Hackathon. This feature is intended solely for informational purposes, to highlight interesting work, and to inspire the community.
Introducing Hackathon 2025 Staking and Review
Along with the mid-project update, the Pi Network has introduced new ways for Pioneers to engage with Hackathon 2025 applications directly in the Pi browser: Pioneers can now see the full list of applications submitted to the Hackathon and can now stake Pi on applications they support to help increase the visibility of applications within the ecosystem.
How to access Hackathon 2025 applications:
- In the Pi browser, go to PiApps tab.
- Click on Main network applications in the "Browse by category" section.
- Use "hackathon25" filter.
From there, Pioneers will find all applications submitted to the Pi Network Hackathon 2025, with applications continuing to be accepted until October 15. Pioneers can now explore and embed Pi into projects they support.
Please note that the scores or ranking of individual applications will not affect the outcome of the Hackathon. Applications will be evaluated based on the application evaluation criteria listed in the original hackathon announcement.

The open theme of the hackathon focuses on how external Open Network connectivity can extend the usefulness of the Pi controller. This means creating real applications that offer practical uses, even for people who have never mined a Pi controller. This new staking and control capability extends the existing Ecosystem Directory Staking feature, and by working with applications, Pioneers can now help discover emerging projects and support the creators who shape the Pi Network ecosystem.
