Pi Hackathon 2025: Final instructions and last chance for success

Time is running out! Pi Hackathon 2025 is approaching its grand finale with deadline October 15, 2025 at 23:59:59 UTC (00:59:59 CEST for Czech developers). Pi Core Team has just released the official final instructions for all participants of this historic competition with the total prize amount 160 000 Pi.

• October 16, 2025, 01:59:59 CEST (for Czech participants)
• Less than 6 days left!

The official email with final instructions has been sent out. October 7, 2025 to all registered participants via pihackathon2025@picoreteam.org.

📋 Required steps for a successful application

For valid participation in Pi Hackathon 2025 YOU MUST to fulfill BOTH of the following steps:

1. Final Submission Form + Demo Video

Submission form: https://forms.gle/uGzLWhKkjotLdzUQA

Key requirements:

• One form per team – coordinate with teammates before sending
• Complete list of all team members
• All team members must pass Pi KYC for the right to prizes

Demo video specifications:

• Maximum length: 3 minutes
• Publicly available on YouTube or another platform
• Link must be included in the submission form

The demo video must contain:

✅ A short introduction describing the application and its purpose

✅ Walkthrough of functionality and user interface

✅ Explanation of the target group

✅ The problem or need that the app solves

✅ Pi integration method into the user experience (payments, login, etc.)

2. Final App Submission via Developer Portal

Step I: Enter the Hackathon code

1. Open it Pi Browser and go to Developer Portal
2. Click the button "Hackathon" on the main "Develop" page
3. Enter the hackathon code: hackathon25 (case sensitive)
4. Click "Join" – marks your Developer Portal account as a hackathon participant

Step II: Application Submission

• After entering the code, a new button will appear "Submit to Hackathon" after reaching Checklist Step 10 ("Add a PiNet subdomain")
• Click "Submit to Hackathon"
• The application will automatically be included in the Hackathon category
• Submitted applications will be listed on Hackathon Submissions page in Pi Apps tab Pi Browser

Important restrictions: Any user can send maximum 2 Mainnet applications to the hackathon.

🏆 Prize Pool and Categories

Total prize money: 160,000 Pi

Official price breakdown:

🥇 1. place: 75,000 Pi

🥈 2. place: 75,000 Pi

🥉 3. place: 75,000 Pi

🏆 Honorable Mentions: 5,000 Pi for each

Applications will be evaluated according to App Review Criteria listed in the original hackathon announcement:

The technical requirements:

✅ Use only Pi SDK for payments and authentication

✅ Original solution – not just copies of existing applications

✅ Minimum functionality – the application must be functional

✅ Testnet deployment outside the sandbox for testing

✅ English name and description

✅ Privacy Policy and prescribed requirements
