External Open Network connectivity offers the opportunity to build on the current utility of the Pi controller through practical applications that provide real-world use cases and utility for everyday users, including those who have never mined a Pi controller.

Following the dynamics of application creation from Pi2Day 2025 This hackathon encourages developers to create tools, applications, and environments that will make the Pi more usable and accessible around the world.

Challenge

Create an app for the Pi that promotes the usefulness of the Pi by encouraging and enabling people to get involved in the ecosystem. This hackathon boasts a general, open-ended theme that encourages broad creativity. Your app can focus on any use case as long as it meets the requirements for registration in the mainnet and brings real benefit to the Pi community.

Developers are encouraged to:

  • Be creative and innovate based on real user needs;
  • Leverage community contributions by creating an open-source project using Pi Open Source (PiOS) ;
  • Use it Pi App Studio and the Brainstorm app as starting points for transforming initial ideas into full-fledged apps; and
  • Use artificial intelligence technologies, including programming assistants, to support the development and iteration of your applications.

Prices

The winning teams will receive the following prizes:

  • 🥇 1st place: 75 pi
  • 🥈 2nd place: 45 pi
  • 🥉 3rd place: 15 pi
